About the GIQ
The Group of Optics and Quantum Information (GIQ) started its activities in 2002 and since then several researches have been produced connecting telecommunications and computer engineering with quantum physics. In particular, the main effort has been directed to the development of new quantum computer’s architectures and new theoretical and experimental optical setups and protocols for quantum key distribution. More recently, high precision numerical methods (used for example in galaxies collisions) and new mathematical functions (like the Lambert-Tsallis and the Lambert- Kaniadakis functions) have also been investigated in our group and found applications in, respectively, integrated optics and quantum information theory.
